Coastal Music Park Fundraising Information
Knightdale High School Band Association has a concession stand at the Coastal Music Park/Amphitheater. There are no less than 18 concerts held there each season. Our booth is located in the West (main) plaza and can be very busy. This is an opportunity to raise funds for band fees. This is an opportunity that should not be missed and definitely taken advantage of! This is a great way for you to EARN band fees - and even SPRING TRIP fees instead of paying out of pocket.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 16 YEARS OF AGE TO WORK AT COASTAL MUSIC PARK - - NO EXCEPTIONS!!

The concession booth is work - anything worthwhile is work, but it is also a lot of fun. Our band family works well together and helps each other out with orders and other jobs to be done. We get to promote our band and you can hear the music.
We sell a lot of food, sodas, water, draft & canned beer. We are especially busy just after the gates open and during intermissions. Many times there is a steady stream of people once the gates open. It takes approximately 10-12 people each show - so we need everyone available so that we keep the customers happy and coming back to our stand!
How do individuals earn money? The band earns a percentage of our total sales for each concert. Each person who works gets credited a certain amount per show for an entire shift. For Example: if you have 2 people work then your student is credited double. The more concerts you work, and/or the more people working on your behalf, the more you can earn towards band fees. Workers do NOT have to be band parents, they can be friends or family - anyone who is willing to "work" on your behalf.
What is Required to work? TEAM training makes you a more valuable volunteer as we MUST have 18 TEAM trained people per concert. Please consider taking this class when it is offered! This allows you to work a window and to check ID for alcoholic beverage sales - YOU MUST be 18 yrs of age to take this class. ALL Volunteers are needed and welcomed! (Again - STUDENTS however must be 16 years of age in order to work).
What time do I arrive? Arrivals times are usually 1 hour before the gates open. Occasionally there are times when weeknight concerts have gates opening at 5:30p and people do not get off work until 5pm. When this is the case, you let that night's stand leader know ahead of time so that they can report to the concessioners that we will be staffed adequately.
Where Do I Park? See map below showing directions - if stopped at the entrance you are to say you are volunteering for a non-profit. If you see OFFSITE on the schedule, there will be a shuttle that will pick up and drop off at a pre-designated location. That information will be sent out in plenty of time to arrange your schedule. Usually, it is Southeast Raleigh High School [map].
How Do I Get in the Gate? We do not enter through the regular gates, but instead through a service entrance. Your name must be on that event's list in order to gain entrance. ID's are checked, so don't forget your driver's license!
What Do I Wear? 1) Black Pants or Shorts are required. (no short-shorts or you could be sent home) - 2) A Solid Black Ball cap (obtainable at Walmart for about $3) 3) You will receive a t-shirt upon checking in that you will change into once inside the gates.
Where do I go? Our stand is very close to the service entrance. See Map below.
